“I think the people of this country have had enough of experts,” said UK politician, Michael Gove, in June 2016

I know of two economists who backed Brexit as a sensible economic idea, but the vast majority thought it was utter madness

In June 2021, the FT reported, “UK exports of food & drink to the EU dropped by almost half in the first three months of 2021 due to the impact of post-Brexit trade barriers.”

“Lives, livelihoods and the UK economy at risk” warned the Road Haulage Association in August 2016

Now shoppers are being warned to brace for price hikes as they stare at empty shelves due to a shortage of 100,000 HGV drivers thanks to Brexit limiting the freedom of movement of EU drivers

What’s the point?

Not listening to experts can be costly

And if you disagree and sell advice, please email your clients to say they should no longer pay for YOUR expert advice

Or is that different?

So when a Professor,

a Consultant Pulmonologist – specialist respiratory physician

someone at the very top of their “game”

at a top hospital in the country

tells me in an emotional blog that he

“Wants me to get vaccinated”

“To stop living like there is no COVID and that “99% recovery” somehow means this thing is not real”

“To stop spreading anti-vaccine misinformation”

“To stop harassing us for medications that don’t work”

That, if I get really sick, he may not be able to save my life and have to break the devastating news to my spouse and children

(can you imagine having to do this?)

Do I REALLY

want to be so arrogant

to think I know better than this expert?

Because I’m a “fit, slim cyclist” (like him)

I don’t think so.

Especially when the “cost”

might not be empty supermarket shelves or lower profits

but my life
